How We Teach

We offer a wide range of teaching. Depending on how long a student is with us we try to introduce or cover almost all of the these points, though we can narrow and focus to fit the needs of a student. Students will be able to have recitals.

Basic Piano Lesson
  • Learning to read and memorize sheet music
  • Basic understanding of rhythm, counting, technique, and dynamics.
  • Be able to perform in a recital.
Advanced Lesson (for students wanting to have a broader understanding)
  • Introduction to composers and music periods (Classical, Baroque, Romantic, etc) and Introduction to Music History
  • Introduction to Theory 
  • Introduction to Aural Skills 
  • Introduction to Music History
Beyond...

If students demonstrate understanding and application of all of points, we then recommend them for audition to the youth conservatory at Utah State University. At USUYC, students receive many amazing performance and collaboration opportunities, as well as chance to attend Utah State Summer Piano Clinic, Utah State Piano Festival, and Wasserman Festival.
